Acorn Court Care Home
Amazing Winter Wonderland at Acorn
You just have to go along to see the amazing Christmas display, every year is different. I visited this week and what an amazing sight the whole reception area was full of happy residents and relatives all, drinking freshly made mulled wine, with chefs special homemade mince pies and christmas carols being sung along to by the staff and residents a sheer delight to watch and delightful to see elderly people being treated with such love both residents and relatives alike at this special time of the year. Clearly a one in a million place for the lucky residents who are placed here. There was no shortage of christmas cheer with hugs by the fireside, staff sitting holding residents hands and singing along together like one big happy family. Thank you for all the care you provide for our loved ones in the amazing winter wonderland of Acorn Court.

sensitive, friendly, professional, honest, outstanding
My mum was placed in acorn court by social services while I organised her transfer closer to my home 160 miles away. In the time I was searching for a home I frequently visited the home at night, morning and day unannounced. I make no apologises to Acorn Court for this she was my mum. At all times I found Acorn staff and the Home to be exemplary . My mum stayed. In dignity and happiness until she died on sat 17/11/12 among Acorn Court staff who were devoted carers & friends

Caring Friendly Empathetic Knowledgeable patient
My Mum is a permanent resident at Acorn Court, and I feel so thankful that the opportunity arose for her to go there. After suffering two strokes and a spell in hospital, she looked very uncared for. After a short while at Acorn, Mum looked amazing, and was her happy self again. Monica and all her staff are so caring and genuinely interested, Mum really couldn't be in a better place. I would fully recommend anybody to check Acorn out. I am a live- carer myself, and recognise a caring environment

Excellent in every way
My husband moved to Acorn Court in December 2008, he needed special care due to his violence and other behaviour associated with dementia, and due to the specially trained staff he is now much calmer. We are very happy with the care he receives at Acorn Court. The staff are most welcoming every time I visit and this does help me a great deal as my husband does not recognise me.

Award Winning Home from Home
Placing my husband in care was the hardest decision I had to make in 60 years, Acorn Court was the only home I would consider after looking around at local homes. Both Jim and I are now part of a much bigger family (Our Acorn Family) we both agree that the care and love delivered by the whole team is amazing, Its a joy to take part in all the activities, I can join Jim and the staff for lunch whenever I want to. The chef is first class and Carole keeps the home spotless and smelling fresh.

Exemplary specialist residential dementia care
My mother was bed ridden, having to be fed by staff at her previous home. We were asked to move her, as she was defined as requiring a degree of nursing care that they were unable (or unwilling) to provide. We discovered Acorn Court and mother was ambulanced there. Within hours they had her out of bed and feeding herself at a table. Within days she was helping to bake cakes, singing songs and even drawing, things we thought we would never see again. A remarkable transformation. Thank you Acorn!

Excellent Care with Excellent Staff
I lost my Granddad this April to Alzheimers, he was a resident at Acorn and I can honestly say I have never met such caring staff, Monica and her team had such compassion towards every single one of their residents. I would visit regularly and often find my granddad playing table cricket or dancing to a music event Acorn had put on. The staff are were absolutely amazing they ensured my Granddad had the best quality of life he could. I will be forever grateful to Acorn and all the staff there.
