Not good enough for my Mother!

My Mother currently resides at Bebington Care Home. Good points are, the home is clean and tidy. My mother is clean and well. Bad points, not enough stimulation or activities for residents. Poor communication from management bordering on rude at times, though some staff are nice. Clothes go missing all the time to the point of no underwear and having to wear disposable knickers! Not good enough! I am currently in the position of now having to find alternative accommodation for my mother which is not fair on her and will be very unsettling.

Wonderful!

My husband passed away recently in Bebington Care Home and the staff were just wonderful. Everything was carried out to make his passing as comfortable as possible and the care and compassion they showed was so genuine.
My husband spent the final two years of his life there and was treated with respect and dignity. He had his own room which was always clean and fresh and he appeared to be quite happy each time I visited him.
I owe them a great deal of thanks for their kindness and care.

A happy home

I have been very happy with the quality of care provided at Bebington. It appears that there is a low turnover of staff which makes for stability in the standard of care. I am delighted that my father has settled into his life there so well.

Concerns

My Aunt is at present a resident, whilst the place is clean we find the interaction between unit staff and residents to be lacking. After concerns were raised, the manager has made efforts to improve the situation. It is hoped we find a satisfactory conclusion to our present concerns.

Reported to the CQC

Mum stayed here for two weeks. They sent her home wearing someone else's knickers and bra, lost almost all of her own clothes, sent her home without her suitcase and the wheelchair didn't have the seat cushion on it.
They didn't give her her medication saying she hadn't needed it.... it was preventative medication !
Our instructions were that she must not be undressed by a male as it upsets her. The first night there they bathed her and a male helped with this as they said they were short staffed.
She was returned home without some of her medication equipment so I wasn't able to continue assessing her at home.
Had to make several trips back and rummage through other people's clothing in the laundry to try and locate the missing clothing. Never did.
They said they'd written to apologise but it had gone to wrong address they seemed to have. I asked for copies to be sent to me now that they had the right address. They have never arrived.

Unsatisfactory.

My Father suffered several falls before anything was done-at my request. i also had to call the doctor on several occassions. i had to google the swallowing prob, and this is a dementia home?i had to involve the district nurse as their care was wash dress feed. the manageress avoided any confrontation and put it on her young deputy. They did not tell me he was dying, the doc was unsympathetic,No ressucitation without even talking to me.We all contracted the noro virus, yet just Altzheimers on his death certificate. knowone at the funeral and nothing from the manageress, disgusting experience. room needed decorating, better rooms kept for long time patients, which meant they knew my dad didn't have long. Several nice staff a few others dire. Expecting staff to work 12 hour shifts =grumpy staff unhappy residents. Just glad I never have to set foot in the place again. It had recently been taken over by 4 seasons,i tried to contact them, but was blanked by Karen dalton and told to write to Head Office, she was going on holiday! the whole care home experience was truamatic, and I sincerely hope it improves.
