Belmont Castle Care Home

Very friendly and homely care home

My Nan had to be placed in residential care in an unplanned emergency situation. My nan had spent the previous year living with her son/my dad however he unfortunately died so we didn't have long to find a care home. Belmont castle was the 2nd home we viewed and I knew straight away from the friendly welcome from the manager, staff and homely atmosphere that my nan would be well looked after. The home was very sympathetic and understanding of my Nans situation and accommodated her immediately

care with a smile

this care home is superb.....Juanita the manager has built a team of staff that bring caring kindness to the residents and do it all with good humour. The residents feel the fun of living at belmont and they laugh and smile so readily that it gives the home a joyfull atmostphere .
This care home is a pleasure to visit and to see the results that real caring kindness can bring to elderly people ....it is strongly recommended.

Excelent

Mum spent two weeks at Belmont Castle last month to give my dad a well needed rest. The care and dedication shown by the staff, is head and shoulders above what we had observed at other homes we visited. They were quick to evaluate mums needs and involve her in a way she responded to. Mum returned home, but we soon realised that we could no longer give her the constant care and attention she deserved. She is now a resident. Facilities are excelent and nothing here is ever too much trouble.

An excellent welcoming care home

My mother has been a resident at Belmont Castle for the last 4 years. She settled very quickly in to her new life and surroundings due to the care and dedication of all the staff to maintain her quality of life and make each day count. Mum has just enjoyed joining in with numerous Christmas activities over the past two weeks. When visiting the home friends and family are always given a warm welcome.

a home from home

I had to make the difficult decision to find a care home for my mother 8 months ago & I was fortunate to find Belmont Castle, a welcoming atmosphere is apparent the moment you enter the home, it is not the most modern building but makes up for this with caring, attentive staff who treat the residences with respect and dignity. The meals are varied and plentiful. I feel comfortable asking questions relating to my Mums care, most imprtantly Mum is safe happy and well looked after.

Happy, friendly, clean and homely.

My mother has been a resident at the Belmont Castle for just over a month. Her arrival happenned very quickly as my father (her carer) was taken very ill and our family had to organise care for mum. We had researched care homes in the area and our favourite was the Belmont Castle. Mum was made to feel so welcome as were all her family, nothing was too much trouble, we have peace of mind knowing that we can ring or pop in any time of day or night. We are so releived that mum is safe and happy

Continues to care excellently

Manager and staff laid on Jubilee Celebrations for Residents and families by holding a 'Street Party'. Tables were laid up with union flag tablecloths, plates, cups and serviettes. Food was in abundance including a cake decorated as a union flag. Land of Hope and Glory was sung with much gusto whilst waving their union flags. Next day was spent watching H.M.Queens Thanksgiving programme and lunching on fish and chips in paper, just like the good old days. Everyone had a fantastic time. THANKS!

The residents have just enjoyed a lovely Jubilee weekend, with a 'street party' in the grounds, with all family and friends invited. It was a lovely afternoon and they all waved their flags and sang Land of Hope and Glory and loads of food was provided. On Tues they watched the ceremonies on TV and had a Fish and Chip lunch - enjoyed by most.

Excellent care home for elderly

My mother spent five weeks at Belmont Castle so that my wife (her carer) could visit relatives abroad.

My mother was made very welcome and was looked after very well. Her room was excellent, as was the food.
Every effort was made to keep her happy. Indeed, now that she is about to return home with us, she is reluctant to leave!

I would most certainly consider using Belmont Castle again.

An Outstanding Care Home

My Mother has been a resident at Belmont for over 4 years. During that time she has been extremely well looked after, with the highest level of care given by the dedicated staff. Mum is very happy at Belmont, which certainly makes us happy too. Juanita, the Home Manager, is doing a fantastic job. She certainly "has her finger on the button" and is always looking for new projects. The residents are treated with respect and dignity and we are always made so welcome when we visit.

Caring, homely and very friendly

My mother has been a resident at Belmont Castle for 16 months and has been very happy and well cared for during this time. On initially viewing the home I was immediately struck by the bright, homely atmosphere and the friendliness of the staff. They have been very supportive to me through some difficult times and their care of my mother has been excellent. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Excellent individualised dignified care.

I have always found the staff friendly and helpful, keep me informed of changes and provide my father with a good quality of life. My father is treated with dignity and respect and enabled to make choices, encouraged to participate or able to sit quietly and enjoy listening to music. It is not easy to leave someone so vulnerable in someone else's care but the understanding and care shown by Juanita, Kathy and the staff to him as an individual give me confidence that he is in safe hands.

Manager very dedicated and committed

Our Mother, Florence Bennett, was a resident at the Home for 9 1/2 years. She was very happy and contented and very accepting of the homely environment. The catering was excellent at all times and there was a great variety of choice. The Activities officer, arranged a monthly programme of stimulating actives including outings, quizzes entertainments and evenings for families and friends with catering included. In our opinion , it should qualify for 3 stars from the CQC. From Jane and Pamela.

Good and efficient

My father (Ken Boylett) has been a resident for approximately 1 1/2 years and has received excellent. It was not an easy decision to place someone into residential care, however the process and transition was an easy one at Belmont castle thanks to all the staff. Special thanks go to Juanita (care manager) who understood and reacted to my fathers condition during an awkward peroid. After arranging changes to medication through doctors and mental heath workers his healh has significanly improved.

Residential care home

Excellent care provided by pleasant friendly staff. Feels more like a country hotel than a care home. Good home cooked food and cakes. Attention to detail and follow up on any issues we have had. Lots of opportunity for feedback with regular meetings for staff and families plus a regular newsletter. Hope it's still there when I need a home!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My father in law Arthur Mouland entered Belmont Castle in Aug 2010 and in his own words "wished he had moved in earlier it was like a hotel and he could eat and drink as much as he liked" In Mar he was admitted into hosp.and by May lost the will to live I was told by a consultant they were prepared to let go home to die as he requested.Yet with loving care and medical attention he pulled through and got the will to live again. I can't thank Juanita and all the staff enough. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 5+

First Class Residential Care Home

Mother is a resident in The Belmont Castle. All the staff are absolutely marvellous, the care and love for everybody is evident immediately upon entry. There is so much going on for the residents to keep them stimulated, both within the Home and outings. Families are also encouraged to become an integral part of all that goes on. The Belmont is 1st Class in every respect. We are so lucky that such a fantastic Home exists locally and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone.

Home from home

When I heard on the news yesterday that they were starting up the good care guide, I felt that I had to comment on the care my Dad received at Belmont Castle leading up to his death in September 2011. The atmosphere at "The Castle" as he used to call it, was extrememly caring, homely and relaxed. He had a really good sense of humour and there was always a lot of laughter and banter in the home which is something he appreciated. A very big Thank you to Juanita and the entire team at Belmont x
