Tinies HMT Playscheme
Jude enjoyed his day out...
Jude enjoyed his day out to the Science Museum but says that there is not enough to keep children of his age engaged all day on other days of the week when they are indoors. There seem to be far more younger children attending than children of his age. This makes him far less keen to go to playscheme than he was a couple of years ago. He said he spent most of the time reading a book when I would prefer him to be playing with others or doing things it's less easy to do at home.

Indigo and I were welcomed immediately. I was nervous as her first day there they were going on an external trip but the staff reassured me and also provided me with a number I could call and check to see if Indy was OK. Indy couldn't wait to go back for the second day.

This survey is for HMT and Caxton House. Importantly, it is with great thanks to the Playscheme leader at Caxton House who took all of my 3 girls in at short notice due to me booking them into BIS by mistaken. Which, I did not realise until I arrived at Caxton house and they were not booked into there. So thanks very much for your quick thinking and support as I was shattered after flying in from Spain with my girls that morning and travelling from Luton airport too.

My daughter was very excited at being in the same building as Mummy. She settled in well as the group was small enough to get to know everyone well yet diverse enough for her to take on a range of activities. She loved the visit to the Science Musuem! I particularly the idea of having themes, e.g. science and space. I also liked the idea she was close by and the staff were very welcoming and made me feel happy to leave her in their care.

Strong structured programme based on themes means that children have a focus and something to get excited about (if they want to). My son enjoyed it, I felt it was friendly, safe and secure and added bonus that close to workplace.

I always feel confident that I am leaving my child in a safe and friendly environment. The service is excellent and helps me to continue on with my work during school holidays. I would be very sad if the service was no longer available.

Gibriel really enjoyed himself - again - and was very complimentary in his feedback. His only negative comment was that tho he had more fun at HMT, he thought there were fewer toys and things to play with than at BISS. (Is there a TV at HMT?) I can't comment on this either way but thought I'd pass it on. Thanks.

Location is convenient, close to my office. The costs is also reasonable with the employee discount from my department. Otherwise, I would not be able to afford the playscheme. The is a wide range of actovoties for the children to participate in and my kids always seem to enjoy the experience.

My kinds enjoyed their two days. Their description of the Jungle Gym trip made me wonder whether it was particularly safe. Although they enjoyed it, they said it was very crowded and both had suffered (minor) bumps to the head.

The location is convenient to Whitehall Government employees, therefore enabling me to work at ease, and not have to rush off at the end of day to pick my daughter up.
My daughter is experiencing London very well, and this enables her to have the knowledge of our great city. She always recognises institutes, parks, and even some Ministers on the News. Attending the playscheme has made her more Citywise, and at her age that is very encouraging.
The cost is remarkable. As a lone parent, I could never afford to send my daughter to a playscheme, where she could develop her social skills and awareness (away from school and family/family friends).
My daughter can be reserved and tearful when I leave her in the beginning of the holidays. By her knowing I am nearby, and that the playscheme will look after her, both Mother and Daughter are comforted by the distance.

My son thoroughly enjoyed his experience at playscheme, and he always looks forward to coming back because of the wide range of activities, being able to play with lots of other chilren. He's able to channel his energy throughout the day, so is more relaxed and ready to wind-down at the end of the day. The staff are always friendly and approachable and provide feedback everyday.

The Holiday Club is cost effective and good value for money.

On the Wednesday here was a trip to the Maritime museum. My children unfortunately did not particularly enjoy this trip and didn't feel they got much from it. In my experience the Maritime museum is a good place to visit but it is important they are taken around the museum and surroundings to get the most from the experience. Otherwise its just a day out without much leaning & enjoyment.
