This is a great employee benefit, and without it my family would have really struggled with holiday childcare. It is conveniently located in Westminster and excellent value for money, with the children being given snacks and taken on exciting trips all included in the cost. Most Departments offer a large subsidy, which makes this a very afforable childcare option for school holidays. Will recommend, and will definitely be using again.

Having to work in London during the 6 weeks school holidays put me in an uncomfortable position in relation to childcare responsibilities. Having young children, I didn't want to be away from them for too long so felt the ability to bring them to work with me for local childcare provisions reduced the stress and worry of being away.

Once again, my son had a great time at 1 Victoria Street and going on visits/trips. However, there was an issue with the visit on the 23rd August (Chessington) as we only just arrived before the trip was due to leave.

The weekly schedule didn't mention any drop-off or pick up time, and there was apparently an e-mail that wasn't sent to me advising a specific drop-off time. I've checked all my e-mails and although I can find e-mails going back to when Samuel first started Tinnies, I can't find any e-mail about this trip. Another 5 minutes later and he would have missed the trip.

Absolute nightmare. I booked my two young children into the club for 23 August in advance because I had important meetings in the office, including health appointment. However, while getting my children ready in the morning, I got a call at 8.40am and was informed that there was a coach to take them on the outing to Chessington, leaving at 9am. I informed the caller that this was the first I'd heard that I needed to get my girls in by 9am (normally I drop them off between 10-10.30) and I explained that the earliest I could be there would be for 9.15-9.30 because it takes me 45 mins to get in. I did not receive any email that was apparently sent on the Monday, and I do not believe email (or a call 20mins before departure) is an adequate or appropriate way to notify customers of this important condition. I was advised by Emma (the caller I spoke to) to still try and make it in, and was given her mobile number to call at 9am to update them on my expected time of arrival. In fact, I arrived within the time I had advised them of (namely 9.25am) so there was in fact no update to provide at 9am, nevertheless I texted the number to confirm that I was still arriving at the time I had previously notified (9.15-9.30). To save time, I got my wife to drive us to the station near home, and I then ran from St James' Park station with my girls. However, when we arrived at 9.25am the BIS building was locked down, no one answered the mobile number provided, so I instead called the landline number (presumably the head office) and was informed the coach had just left and to keep trying the mobile number. When I finally got through I was told that I was too late, the coach had just left (apparently at 9.22am) and there was nothing they could do, and that no alternative childcare was being provided that day. This was the first time I learned that all the staff had gone on the outing and that all centres were closed and there was no one to provide childcare for my two children. Had I known this, or been notifed/ advised in advance, then I would not have taken the risk of bringing my two young children into central London (as, even though I was hoping to arrive 9.15-9.30, there is always the risk of delay on the tubes, even though I in fact managed to get my children in at the time I had warned them (9.15-9.25)). After arriving to an empty/ locked building, and with my girls waiting on the pavement next to a busy road, for the next 30mins I was ringing around and speaking to different Tinies staff, all of whom were unhelpful, unapologetic and defensive, and unable/ unwilling to offer any suggestions as to what I could do now that I was stuck in Westminster with two young children, needing emergency childcare to enable me to attend my work. The only option given to me was to take my children myself to Chessington by train and that it was an easy and straightforward journey, though they couldn't tell me which station and I was advised to google the journey details. I therefore took my two girls to Waterloo station to try and get a train, only to find that there was no train for another 30mins, the train journey time took over 1 hour and involved 1 change, and there would then be a 10min walk from the station (not easy with two young and tired children) - and of course I would had no confidence that I would even be able to find any Tinies staff on the mobile provided when I got there. I therefore had no choice but to cancel all my meetings (including the health appointment) and take the day off so I could take my children home (which involved a torturous journey home, via Chancery Lane to get the car keys off my wife, so we could drive home from the station at the other end). By the time we got home, we were exhausted, tired and close to tears. the morning had been a disaster and we were too tired to go out again/ do anything else for the rest of the day.
In short, I found the service provided by Tinies: disorganised, unreliable and the staff unhelpful (and defensive/ unapologetic). If I had a choice I would never use this service again, if I can avoid it. Even though I had booked/ paid for the following day too, I did not have any confidence/ trust that I could rely on Tinies so I have instead booked emergency childcare via an agency.

Overall happy but a few gripes. It was my children's first day but there wasn't really any settling in as trailed in the guidance, just a cursory 30 second tour. I had deliberately come in early to ensure they were happy.
I had provided art aprons but these weren't used and two sets of clothes were ruined.
I also asked to have lunch with my children but when I arrived at the agreed time they had finished.

The kids were a bit bored. They felt it was more appropriate for infants than juniors (they are 8 and 9). They were disappointed the promised and advertised 'waterslide' activity did not happen in the afternoon, They were not unhappy, but they did not want to do it again. Very much an emergency backup rather than core holiday option. Teens option might be better in a couple of years.
